Attend the first meeting of the NORTHWEST 11, the name being giving to the Chatham, Ghent, Philmont, Claverack Rail Trail Alliance forming to bring the northwestern eleven mile section of the Harlem Valley Rail Trail from the Taconic Parkway to Chatham.
The Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association is applying for a grant to plan and engineer the trail from Preusser Road in Claverack, through Philmont and Ghent and into Chatham Village. When the whole trail is completed it will run 46 miles from Wassaic to Chatham passing through scenic vistas, sheltered woodlands and several villages in Dutchess and Columbia Counties.
