Ooms Conservation Area At Sutherland Pond – Main Parking Area

480 Rock City Rd Chatham

CLC presents a free people and dog activity — SAFE ADVENTURES IN THE PARK WITH YOUR DOG! with Peg Munves, CPDT-KA. This class includes fun and effective techniques for sharing our CLC spaces so everyone can have safe and successful outings with their dog.

Topics we will cover include:

  • proper trail walking etiquette and yielding space to others
  • interacting with other dogs in the parking lot and park, and on the trail (leashed & unleashed)
  • interacting with other humans in the park, parking lots, and on the trail
  • improving your recall and attention outside
  • reviewing CLC leash policies and other dog policies

Everyone who wishes to attend must register by June 22. We are able to accomodate 8 dog/handler teams only – others without dogs are welcome but also must register. Bring dogs on your regular walking equipment – leashes are mandatory. Please bring a couple of cups of soft, smelly training reinforcements that they dog can easily swallow; kibble is fine if your dog loves it. Dog-friendly dogs only please, one dog per handler.

By signing up for this class, you are certifying that your dog has up-to-date inoculations or titers and is healthy.
