Storytime

Explore, interact, and discover nature in a beautiful outdoor setting. Participants will observe and expand their knowledge of nature, learn about what lives in their own backyard, explore the outdoors, communicate what they have discovered, create art, collect insects, catch frogs, and splash in Jon’s Pond!  Each session includes story time, take home arts & crafts project, nature journaling, and free play.

Knee High Naturalist – Where Butterflies Grow

Oh, those magnificent Monarch butterflies! Come join our citizen scientist program and find out about the butterfly lifecycle and migration, as well as how we can help researchers learn more about them. Program includes story time, arts & crafts, an educational program, and free play.

  • Knee High Naturalist – Pond Pals

    Explore the pond and the wet and wiggly creatures that call it home. We’ll use nets to get a closer look at noisy bullfrogs, twitchy tadpoles, and crazy crayfish, then make a frog mask to take home. It is this season’s kickoff for the Knee-High Naturalist series – all events include story time, arts & crafts, an educational program, and free play.

    Magnificent monarch butterflies are “growing” in the fields at Harrier Hill Park – come see them! Make and decorate your own butterfly wings, look for butterflies and become a citizen scientist.
