Acres for lease

Acres available for crop production

Acres available for pasture/hay

Property Description

Property’s current condition and current use(s)

The land was mowed last March 2020, and is currently full of wildflowers. The farmer would need to mow again and till/no till the soil to ready it for planting.

Farm history / past uses of the property

As far as I know, the land was previously used for haying.

Farm Infrastructure

Water access description

The land is adjacent to a river, and I believe a farmer would be allowed to pump water from it to cultivate the land.

Additional Information

Restrictions on agricultural activities permitted on the property under the town's zoning code or other land use laws

I'm not aware of any. It is zoned for agriculture.

Do you require a farmer who qualifies for agricultural assessment?

Are you willing to have the public on the property for a CSA, farm market or related agricultural activity?

Other potential constraints on agricultural activities (property constraints, concerns from neighbors, etc.)

There are 2 homes set back from the land, on the other side of the road.

Any additional information about this property

Since my partner and I moved to the property three years ago, it has been completely organic and chemical/pesticide/herbicide and fungicide free. We wish it to remain so. The land has not been certified organic but I will look into if it is possible to certify it as such. I have been taking care of the land by leaving the lightest footprint I can, and always considering how my actions will benefit wildlife, pollinators, the soil and the trees.

The land is easily accessible, and not far from major roads. The road the property is on is a quiet road, and the river is clean.

Since my work is focused on the environment and ways we can nourish and heal it, if the tenant, for example, plans on creating a CSA, and would like support in spreading the word about their business, I would love to be of help.
