Ready, set, Nature Quest!
Beginning September 24, explore the Columbia Land Conservancy Public Conservation Areas, located throughout Columbia County. During this spectacular adventure all ages are welcome to read and learn about what creatures live at each Public Conservation Area.
What is Nature Quest? When out at the Public Conservation Areas, look for the magnifying glass to find the Nature Quest trails. Each Nature Quest includes six animals scattered throughout the trail as seen in your booklet. Collect stamps of the animals at each site by doing a rubbing of the engraved signs in the journal pages at the end of your booklet. If you visit all ten Nature Quest trails you are eligible for a prize! Bonus Quest: Find the Squirrel at the end of five Nature Quest trails and take a picture. Use #CLCNatureQuest when sharing your pictures!
How do we participate? Pick up or download and print your Nature Quest book, then you’re ready to head out to the trails! Books can be downloaded here, picked up at the CLC office, or one of the partnering libraries. Then pick one (or more) of ten Public Conservation Areas to visit. Follow the Nature Quest trails as you read the poems and activities to learn about each site and the critters that live there. Don’t forget to look for squirrels!
Guided audio tour! Enjoy the trails while you listen and learn using the Nature Quest TravelStorys. This audio tour will guide you on your journey and is fun for the whole family. Click here to download TravelStorys onto your smartphone.
Our quest is complete, now what? Mail in the completed section from your Nature Quest book, or fill out the form here! Once received we will mail your prize.
