Natural Resources Inventory
For towns and the county government, the NRI provides extensive information about the land, water, biological, and other resources of the county, as well as describing general conservation principles. It is an important reference document for those serving on local planning and zoning boards, Conservation Advisory Councils, and other committees. For CLC members, the NRI is a resource to allow them to grow their understanding and appreciation of the lands, waters, and creatures that make up this special place they love. It also elucidates conservation principles to help people become better stewards of the land. This project was a partnership with the county Environmental Management Council (an advisory body made up of appointees from towns throughout the county), Hudsonia, Ltd, and the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program.
