Join CLC and your local libraries to celebrate Public Lands Day with a Library Explorer Backpack Extravaganza as we launch our Nature Explorers Backpack Program!
10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Take a look at each backpack theme.
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Explore High Falls and test out the backpacks on the trail during a guided hike at.
The 5 backpack themes include: Insects, Streams and Ponds, Birding, Night Sky, and Take a Hike.
Libraries participating include: Chatham Public Library, Claverack Library, Germantown Library, Hudson Area Library, Kinderhook Memorial Library, Livingston Free Library, New Lebanon Library, Philmont Library, Roeliff Jansen Community Library and the Valatie Free Library.
Difficulty level: Easy
Things to bring: Good walking shoes, water, bug spray
After this event patrons of many local libraries will be able to take nature-based adventures with Explorer Backpacks free of charge from the libraries listed above.
This project is supported with funding from the New York State Conservation Partnership Program (NYSCPP) and New York’s Environmental Protection Fund. The NYSCPP is administered by the Land Trust Alliance, in coordination with the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
