Sip & Stroll: Merlot & Migration
May 11 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
The first in our Sip and Stroll Series for the year, we will be celebrating the Year of the Bird and World Migratory Bird Day. World Migratory Bird Day, which was created in 1993, by the Smithsonian and Cornell Lab of Ornithology and was historically celebrated around the world on the 2 Saturday of May, but since birds don’t migrate on one day and often migrations happen at different times in other parts of the world, groups are encouraged to educate people about migratory birds any time of year! We will still be celebrating in May, with a walk around Greenport Conservation Area, with a discussion about our grassland bird management, and a walk to the overlook to see if we notice any migratory species along the river.
Please be sure to register so that we can be in touch in the event of a cancellation.
