This free winter ecology walk is guided by Conrad and Claudia Vispo from the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program. It will be an opportunity to observe the winter life in our landscape. The walk will pass an old field, climb through the forest to an overlook, and–if the water is frozen–venture out through the swamp forest to the edge of the marsh. Along the way, participants might have a closer look at mosses, lichens, evergreen ferns, the dried remains of wildflowers, tree bark and twigs, and/or signs of animal life. Come dressed for the occasion and dive with into the winter world! Please register here to reserve your space and get directions.
