CLC is excited to announce the first Annual Photography Show!
This exhibition is open to people of all ages and all levels of experience. This is not a fine art or a technical photography contest but rather a way to connect to this land we love. CLC employees and their immediate families are not eligible to participate. This year’s theme is CLC’s Public Conservation Areas!
Some Frequently Asked Questions are listed below; if you have others, please read the Rules of Entry or email CLC! We’ve also started an online Photo Club! Click here to join.
Is the show still going on?
Yes, but follow social distancing guidelines. We have extended the deadline for submission, and will re-evaluate our ability to host an in-person show as more information about the COVID-19 pandemic is available.
Who may enter?
Anyone who lives within 150 miles of Columbia County! If you are under 18, you must get parent/guardian permission to participate.
Is there a fee?
No. CLC will print and frame the top three photos from each Public Conservation Area, as well as the top youth (under 18) photo from each site.
What is the deadline for submission?
Photos must be submitted via Google Form by May 31, 2021.
What is a Public Conservation Area? Where can I find them?
CLC owns and manages ten Public Conservation Areas, all of which are very photogenic! Click here for more details.
How many photos can I submit?
Each participant can submit three entries. Each photo should be of a different Public Conservation Area, and photographers can only win in one category. We will only be accepting photos via the Google Form below. Submit a Google Form for each photo. Please do not submit photos via email, snail mail, or any other means.
Is there a prize for having a winning submission?
Among all images submitted, the jurors will select the top three from each Public Conservation Area, as well as a youth finalist from each Public Conservation Area. Prizes will be awarded for first place, second place, and third place in each age division.
The top three photos from each Public Conservation Area, and the top youth photo from each area, will be selected.
During the time the show is open to the public, the public will have the opportunity to vote on a People’s Choice photo. The winner of the People’s Choice category will receive a gift basket from CLC. CLC Staff will also select a Staff Choice winner, who will also receive a gift basket from CLC.
Pending the receipt of grant funding, the top three photos from each Public Conservation Area, and the top youth photo from each Public Conservation Area, will also be included in a print journal (pending grant funding), which will be given to the selected photographers.
If my photo is selected, do I need to pay to print and frame it?
No, CLC will print and frame your photo if we host an in-person show.
