Event Details

This event is co-sponsored by the Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) and the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program. In November of 2019, facilitated by Jamie Purinton, Claudia Knab-Vispo, and CLC, a group of volunteers seeded a native wildflower meadow on an acre of a former corn field at Overmountain Conservation Area. This walk, guided by Claudia Knab-Vispo of the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program is an opportunity to see the meadow up close and to learn which seeded plants were established and how the meadow has been evolving over the last two years. The walk is free, but participant number is limited.

Difficulty level: Short and mostly flat walk from parking lot to pollinator meadow.

Things to bring: Water, weather appropriate clothing, sunscreen, note pad.

To register: Please contact Claudia Knab-Vispo at [email protected].
