Description of buildings

We need somewhere for our goats to live! If the land is for sale, we are happy to construct that building; if we are leasing land, then we would need that building to be in place. Our pigs and chickens are housed seasonally in mobile shelters and mobile electric netting, which we will provide.

Primary crops or livestock description

We currently have a herd of just 16 dairy goats. We use their milk to make artisan cheese, and also sell it raw from the farm. We ran a state-licensed dairy up in Albany County, and looking to move our operation down south. We raised forest-fed pigs on the whey from our cheesemaking, and pastured poultry alongside the goats as a pasture pest management enterprise.

Marketing method(s)

We have historically sold our products are farmers markets, our own farm store, and to local restaurants. We would be looking to continue that model, with a stronger focus on on-farm sales.

Will your operation qualify an eligible landowner for an Agricultural Assessment?
