Acreage to lease (total)
Acreage to lease (tillable)
Description of buildings
I'm flexible to the right property at the right price - if it's great ag land without any infrastructure or amenities, I would consider it. First preference is good veggie land with existing amenities, including a house. The vegetable operation's needs are mainly good, open land and proximity to Hudson, NY. The rest - fencing, electric, water - are secondary considerations that are not necessary as part of this land purchase.
Description of equipment
Compact tractor or skid steer, a walk-behind two-wheel BCS tractor, and common power and hand tools.
Description of water access
Would prefer a strong well with >30GPM.
Description of fencing
I will put up fencing.
While this is a farm, I would need to be able to build and expand its capacity - tool sheds, greenhouses, employee housing, guest housing, etc.
Primary crops or livestock
Primary crops or livestock description
Primary crops would include the typical vegetables found at farmers markets - carrots, lettuce, greens, tomatoes, etc. I plan on growing exciting varieties, new varieties, and crops that are not common to the typical farmers market customer. As the land and farm mature, other perennial crops will take form.
Local restaurants, CSA's and farmers markets - I have connections to all already.
Will your operation qualify an eligible landowner for an Agricultural Assessment?

Additional experience and education
I have several years of farming experience. I apprenticed at Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture and worked at Eliot Coleman’s Four Season Farm in Maine. I am currently managing a new farm in Columbia County. I have built it up from scratch with several key partners and contractors. The farm is thriving! I plan to continue working here as it is in the area I want to be in. My intention is to slowly build the new farm up to a turn-key capacity.
